Protecting your eyes from sun exposure is important at any age. But for children, who spend more time outside on average than adults, it’s even more necessary.
By protecting your child’s eyes from harmful UV rays now, you’re decreasing the potential for serious conditions later in life. Children should always wear sun protection, such as a wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses, when they’re outdoors.
We offer a variety of UV-blocking sunwear in kids’ sizes. Whether your child wears prescription glasses or has perfect vision, we can help fit them for a comfortable pair of sunglasses.
Our Myopia Control Glasses
Beyond our standard single-vision prescription glasses and non-prescription sunglasses, we also offer specialty lenses designed to slow myopia progression. These lenses use special treatment areas to defocus peripheral vision and slow myopia progression while providing clear, sharp central vision tailored to your child’s prescription.
We carry Stellest lenses by Essilor and MiYOSMART lenses by HOYA, which can be cut to fit the frames your child chooses. These lenses also have sun protection options.
Stellest Myopia Control Glasses
Stellest lenses use HALT (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target) technology to slow myopia progression. The centre of the lens corrects their vision while the outer rings have over a thousand invisible lenslets, which adjust your child’s peripheral vision to fall in front of the retina, rather than behind like traditional single vision lenses. This sends a signal to the eye that helps slow down myopia progression.
MiYOSMART Myopia Control Glasses
MiYOSMART lenses use Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments (D.I.M.S.) technology to slow myopia progression. The lenses have a ring around the central vision area that includes this D.I.M.S. technology. This allows the lenses to correct your child’s vision and treat their myopia simultaneously.
